Free — and a donation is a donation

Every feature in the app is available to everyone at no cost, and there is no intention to make any of it paid.

A donation is purely optional: it unlocks no feature, grants no badge, and its giver is not thanked publicly. It is a one-time consumable amount that goes to running and sustaining the app. It is refundable only according to the policy of the store you purchased from.

The mushaf, the tafsir, and the recitation

The mushaf text is the narration of Hafs from Asim in Uthmani script with Madinah mushaf page numbering; the tafsir is Al-Tafsir Al-Muyassar; and the recitations belong to their reciters.

We have worked hard to verify this, so if you see an error in a letter, a diacritic, or an attribution, tell us at support@thanun.app and we will fix it — it is the first thing to hurry to.

Prayer times and reminders

Prayer times are computed on your device with the Umm al-Qura method from the coordinates of the city you choose. It is an approximate astronomical calculation that may differ from your country’s calendar by minutes.

So rely on your mosque’s adhan and the calendar of your local religious authority, and do not make the app the arbiter of when a prayer time begins. We also cannot guarantee a notification arrives: your phone’s system, battery saver, or silent mode may block it.

Guidance and reminder content

The emotional journeys, duas, deeds, and guidance in the app are an effort at reminder and comfort — not a fatwa, not a substitute for asking people of knowledge, and not a substitute for psychological or medical care when it is needed.

Your account and your use

You are responsible for protecting the Apple or Google account you sign in with.

The service must not be misused: for example by overloading its servers, attempting to reach other people’s data, or using circles and private khatmahs to harm anyone.

The service as it is

The app is provided “as is” with no warranty that it is free of defects or interruption. We are not liable for indirect damage arising from its use.

We reserve the right to change features or discontinue a cloud service, and we will notify you in the app of anything that affects your data.
